jotnarr  burn and bury 12"8.00 €

Even though a lot of people go with the black metal reference I see the more appealing – more emotive and heavy side of this beast driven by only three really nice punks. Beautiful melodies and atmospheric rampage meets heavy and epic riffing.

canyons / creepers  split 12"11.00 €

… Canyons play a loud, volatile, and heavy style of post hardcore with a great noise rock vibe to their sound. Creeper is a four piece band from Toronto, On who formed in 2009. Creeper play a similar style of music, but take a bit of a different approach, combining crust and metallic hardcore influences to their sound. Musically, Canyons call to mind bands that include Bleeding Kansas, Engineer, and Kiss It Goodbye, but add a unique modern twist that keeps the band sounding original and fresh. On their side of the split, Canyons offer up six songs of dirty, scuzzy, sludgey noise rock tinged post hardcore. On the second side of the split, Creeper offer up five songs of crust tinged/metallic hardcore with a great noise rock current that calls to mind bands like No Omega and Oathbreaker if those bands smoked weed and listened to a lot of Botch. Overall, this is a phenomenal album and both bands offer up top notch material for this split. Seriously, I can't get enough of this album. Highly recommended! Enjoy! - from manic compression blog

canyons / tigon / foreign treaters  split 12"11.00 €

"From the hot-boxed catacombs of mathcore-meets-stoner-metal, comes the heaviest 3-way split this year from Missouri's Canyons and Foreign Theaters, and the Bay Area's Tigon. Sharing influences that range from Coalesce and Kylesa to Black Sabbath and The Melvins, these three ""math-sludge"" virtuosos deliver a formidable testament to how grimey, raw, and technical the recesses of hardcore can go. Although all three bands wrote and recorded the record independently of each other, ""Can't Have Nothin' Nice"" shares a common theme of the flaws of the human-condition, and calls for a serious self-evaluation through rigorous (and often ruthless) introspection. For fans of Coalesce, Engineer, The Jesus Lizard, Botch, and brutality. "

planks / lentic waters  split ( white vinyl ) 12"8.00 €

The A side shows Planks taking yet another step away from their Hardcore roots. In the vein of their last output The Darkest Of Grays, they deliver their unique blend of gloomy, melody ridden, downtuned heaviness that incooperate aspects of Doom, Black Metal and Dark Wave - but this time they even go one step further and take on Grunge methodologies in Leave And Never Come Back. All they did on their last records finds its way into these three tracks but everything seems more organized, filtered, more mature and in better sound. Lentic Waters' B side of the split delivers the first three new songs after their impressive first s/t LP. The still fairly new band took the time on the road during the weeks of tours they spent, to distinguish what they are capable of and what they do best. Those tracks bring their facets of grinding emoviolence, double-bass frenzy and super catchy melodies. Also the sound of the recording improved and therefore offers the listener a better inside into what this band is able to. Three string instruments that play three different things at the same time just to have one big harmony in the end. Melodies shattered by ravishing outbursts to flow into massive, epic endings. It should be interesting to see how much more this band has to offer in the future seeing the transition they undertook in such short time. The Split LP comes with drop-dead gorgeous, silver printed artwork by Pierre Johansson on heavy cardboard.

tempest  passages 12"10.00 €

damn i love canada! i fell in love with (diy) hardcore through bands like uranus and one eyed god prophecy ... again with buried inside and titan .... you know bands that have this heartfelt passion mixed with frustration and anger! so this is the newest eruption from canada called TEMPEST. and i m in love again ... Passages takes the listener through bitter and emotional crust, a trip that encompasses despondency, vitriolic rage and some really great sound samples. It's not a long record - in fact it's probably the perfect length, coming in at just over 24 minutes. The 7 tracks are of reasonable length but every single one is attention grabbing, not to mention the 7 minute epic self titled track that closes the album. I don't really have anything bad to say about this. Every moment of it is excellent, it certainly doesn't overstay its welcome and it has a great deal of replay value. "Dark Hardcore" to a tee, mixing aspects of Hardcore, Black Metal, and Crust in a unique blend of chaotic fury."

bolz'n  spaltfunktion 12"8.00 €

this is some very fucking promising tech-grindcore.talking about majorly intense and frantic grind with wildly chaotic drumming that barely seems to follow the same beat as the guitars, which are ultra fast and a little noisy, but also super detuned for added heaviness. Also in place are layered screaming/growling female vocals (some of the best I've ever heard), crazy technical riffs with plenty of blasting speeds, and lots of weird chord phrasings and rhythmic patterns that really fuck with the structures and make for an odd listen. you ve been warned.
