rorcal  creon 2x12"18.00 €

Us import . Slightly bend corner .Three years after the monstruous and blackened “Világvége”, RORCAL is back with a brand new full length entitled “CREON”. Again, this new beast is showing a different face of the band by the mean of 4 hellish tracks for more than 50 minutes of music. Furious, but also melodic, these new songs display a wild range of atmosphere, each one serving the purpose of an epic story. Yes, it’s the death of 4 well known Greek characters, all linked to Creon, that are narrated in this new concept album. Punishing blast beats, heavy riffs, progressive structures expressed through brilliant song writing, possessed vocals ; everything is here reunited to create a new level of insanity in the field of extreme music. This 4th full length, recorded in three days in live conditions by Steph Kroug and mixed in Sweden by Daniel Bergstrand, is a journey nobody could have dreamed of. Let the magic do its job, let yourself drown in this beautiful and savage piece of aggression.

ultha  converging sins 2x12"18.00 €

ULTHA's second full-length album 'CONVERGING SINS' is a 63 minute rumination on the subject matter of how past events and wrong decisions will echo throughout the rest of our mortal existance.Over years experiences of failure and the conscious ability to willingly commit mistakes, to hurt, to reject,to alternate truths etc. lead to a path where silence in and around you is the ultimate repercussion. Therecord is a testimony to everyday melancholia, inner solitude and the human struggle to lead the wrong life in the right, the struggle against your animalistic nature. On their second album ULTHA further their trademark sound of fast, hypnotic, reverberant Black Metal in a more US traditon played by acts such as Ash Borer, Weakling, Leviathan and Wolves In The ThroneRoom. It is combined with crushing Doom heaviness close to acts such as Lycus, Asunder and Forn while also blending in an overall hopeless and gloomy atmosphere mostly connected to Dark Wave bands suchas The Sisters Of Mercy and (early) The Cure. The 2016 EP 'DISMAL RUINS' already showed the path ULTHA follow, adding multiple layers of electronics and slower passages in focus on overall diversive, captivating songstructures in mix with their juggernaut sound. The five songs reach lengths up to almost 20minutes while still balancing repetition and settle nuances in riffs to manifest melodies like echoes in the listeners head. And this is a thing ULTHA were good at right from the start: Writing real songs with tons of melody without lacking heaviness and urging intensity. The focus is always on the overall flow and feel of the record. Therefore the music, the metaphorical, cryptic lyrics by main songwriter R.Schmidt as well as the artwork (envisioned by Kevin Gan Yuen of SutekhHexen fame) need to be treated as a whole entity. The songs we're once again recorded and mixed in the bands rehearsal space called 'The Oil Pit' by thebands own Andy Rosczyk in Cologne (Germany). Mastering duties this time were taken by Jack Shirley at his Atomic Garden studio (California), where he already formed the massive sound of bands such as Lycus, Oathbreaker and Deafheaven. On track No.2 'Mirrors In A Black Room' the band could win British native currently residing in Berlin (Germany), Rachel Davies of the acclaimed post-punk/wave band Esben And The Witch for guest vocals. But she not only sang but also co-wrote the lyrics to the song.

" ""ANTLERS is a new band from Leipzig but the folks behind this outfit are not Germans, they are from Spain and Catalonia. The members, played in such renowned acts like EKKAIA, COP ON FIRE or SANGRE DE MUERDAGO (which are still active). They proof that punks can play black metal. The music ranges from atmospheric midtempo black metal towards the fast stuff. Due to the highly left wing political background of their ex-bands it seems to be sure, that ANTLERS is another bm-band which is cool (aka antifascist) plus their music sounds fucking awesome."""

arkhamin kirjasto  torches ablaze 12"12.00 €

Arkhamin Kirjasto was born in 2010, when Jussi Lehtisalo and Samae Koskinen started making music together. Their aim was to combine different aspects of metal, the music they both loved. Would the guttural power of Autopsy and Nihilist work well with the sheer melodiousness of early Iron Maiden and Angel Witch? Arkhamin Kirjasto's debut album, Torches Ablaze, is the answer to that question. This versatile record opens with "The Cult of No Return", a startling riff that pays homage to Judas Priest. "Sea of Madness" takes an ethereal trip to the realms of psychedelia while "The Bitch From Hell" pairs pure glam with death-metal vocals. The undead hissing of "Thousand Snakes" and the majestic guitar noise of "Speed, Yog Sothoth" then proceed to turn the metal blueprint inside out. Lyrically speaking, Arkhamim Kirjasto deals mainly with the green-tinted cosmic horror of Lovecraftian mythology.

city of caterpillar  driving spain up a wall 12"12.00 €

Repeater Records and Adagio830 Records are proud to announce that they are jointly releasing City Of Caterpillar’s highly sought after song “Driving Spain Up A Wall” as a 12” EP. This 11 minute epic was never properly recorded during the band’s initial existence and only a few live recordings of the song from 2002 – 2003 have existed up until now. “Driving Spain Up A Wall” has been a long awaited missing piece of the band’s discography, but was recently recorded in their hometown of Richmond, VA and was mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden Studio. The B-Side of the 12” also includes the track “As The Curtains Dim (little white lie)”, which was originally recorded during the same sessions as City Of Caterpillar’s self titled LP in 2002, but has never been released on vinyl. Both songs on this 12” brilliantly capture the restrained and explosive intensity that City Of Caterpillar helped to define as a sound in the early 00’s, merging the styles of post-rock and shoegaze with punk and hardcore. This 12” will be out this summer to coincide with City Of Caterpillar’s first European tour and more U.S. shows in the Fall of 2017. The 12” will be released in the U.S. by Repeater Records and in Europe via Adagio830 Records.

cranial  dark towers / bright lights 12"12.00 €

"After arising from the ashes of the post-metal heavyweight Omega Massif in 2014, Cranial are now about to release their first longplayer „Dark Towers, Bright Lights“ that combines 45 minutes of thick and heavy sludge and doom. When the four members of Omega Massif split up, their musical future was vague but soon Phantom Winter, Blacksmoker and lastly Cranial came to life. For the latter, Omega Massif‘s Michael Melchers (guitar) gathered Julian Weidhaus (bass and vocals), Cornelius Merlin (drums) and Sebastian Kröckel (guitar and vocals) to work on the fi rst material which was later recorded by Tobias Anderko in his Blank Disc Studio. The two songs were mixed and mastered in the Tonmeisterei in Oldenburg and later released as the band‘s first physical release. The „Dead Ends“ EP came out in the end of 2015 via Moment of Collapse Records on CD and tape, while the vinyl version‘s appearance was enhanced with a screenprint on the B-side, a printed innersleeve and an inside out cover with a die-cut logo. The EP was highly praised by the international press which enabled the band to play the Droneburg-Festival among several other festivals and shows. In the summer of 2016, Cranial then booked the Tonmeisterei for a week to record the EP‘s successor „Dark Towers, Bright Lights“ with Role Wiegener. Similar to the „Dead Ends“ EP the four songs on „Dark Towers / Bright Lights“ are gloomy, heavy and abundant with a threatening atmosphere. When there is a leitmotif on Cranial‘s latest release, then it is a muddy and bloody plow that draws relentlessly through everything that gets in its way! This beast of an album leads the listener through an almost cinematic dramaturgy by stacking soundscape on soundscape. In the face of these sonic monliths, the tension becomes almost unbearable. Only then Cranial crush them to ruins just to repeat the procedure. Again and again with no time for relaxation. With that „Dark Towers / Bright Lights“ is highly recommendable for fans of Neurosis, Isis, Cult of Luna and the likes."

gloom sleeper  luminous galaxies 12"12.00 €

GLOOM SLEEPER return to the fray with a mighty sophomore album – a manic collision of driving pop melodicism, post-punk sang-froid and four-to-the-floor garage rock energy. Physically they’re in Germany, but their hearts are scattered all over the place: Macclesfield, where they’ve absorbed the raw gothic clatter of proto-Joy Divisionists WARSAW; Notting Hill, where the darkling shimmer of KILLING JOKE somehow found its way into the world…plus all manner of US punk-rock hotspots (New York, Detroit, Cleveland, you name it) dribble into the music like blood into water. They’re at their best when the strands unfurl across each other, like when the shredded-nerve guitars of "city of unrest" soft-fade into a tense, crystalline synth finale. Meanwhile out-and-out rock’n’roll cuts like "perceptions" and "he smiles" prod and poke at your punk-rock heart, daring you to reach into their sweaty embrace while simultaneously keeping you at a distance with a foreboding stare and an outstretched arm. Cold always feels warm once you’ve acclimatised, of course, and these are songs you’ll wanna get inside – if they don’t get inside you first. Essentially, "luminous galaxies" is a stunning leap forward. The best bit? Oh, just the creeping suspicion that there’s even better to come… but for now, this is a mighty fine place to start.

paramnesia  ce que dit la bouche d'ombre 12"12.00 €

PARAMNESIA delivers atmospheric and progressive black metal rather uncommon for the European scene. Their music is inspired by Cascadian black metal bands such as WEAKLING, LEVIATHAN, FELL VOICES, ASH BORER, and YELLOW EYES. Although the band started in 2005, their first demo “Ce Que Dit La Bouche d’Ombre” came out in 2013 and was followed by 2 short Euro tours that same year. A true sensibility, an innate feeling for arrangements, atmospheres which can be both solemn and at times personal, an enthralling musical universe, an atypical and unique sound, and a proactive band are all qualities that make PARAMNESIA a no brainer. "This is basically old Ash Borer with better production values. If you liked that kind of black metal, then this band is one to remember in the coming days." ( sputnik music )

ultha  pain cleanses every doubt 12"12.00 €

ULTHA's debut record features four epic songs of dark, moody Black Metal somewhere between the traditional Scandinavian school and a more contemporary US-Black Metal approach. “Pain Cleanses Every Doubt” is for fans of Ash Borer, Xasthur, Leviathan, Christicide, Blut Aus Nord... The four songs often vary in speed and mood, yet always functioning as one big entity. A constant feel of urging darkness is present. This manifests in the omnipresent melodies which lure the listener in and also in the sophisticated, metaphor ridden lyrics about melancholia, depression, doubt and anti-religious believes. The record was recorded in the bands rehearsal space only a few months after the band's initial first rehearsal. There is a fine balance of a cold, rough feel to a full and heavy sound, embodied in a very mature songwriting for such a young band.

ultha / paramnesia  split 12"12.00 €

This is a split between two black metal bands that I hold in very high esteem; Paramnesia from France, and Ultha from Germany. Paramnesia are the first band, offering up a 20-minute track named VI. Like their previous work, such as their split with Unru, the band deliver epic black metal, forged around a core of frozen might, and expanded with progressive, atmospheric, and melodic components. Paramnesia’s blistering delivery is ramped up in intensity by the needle-thin screams of their singer. Around these slices of venom, entire architectures of emotive blackness spring up and die down at the whim of their creators. Sometimes the band will craft these structures from blasting extremity, while at others the pace slows and time is taken to explore different atmospheric avenues. Introspective, lonesome post-metal-esque sections appear too, showing that the band are adept at shaded, reflective delivery as well, before inevitably unleashing Hellfire once more. Whatever they’re actually doing on this song though, it’s effective and extremely enjoyable. Ulthas contribution to this split – The Seventh Sorrow, 18 minutes in length – shows Ultha have lost none of their talent for highly-engaging music. The Seventh Sorrow is atmospheric and fiery, with gripping melodies and dark mood both present in abundance. With equally abundant bleak melancholy and in-depth emotive content, as well as crazily infectious guitar parts, this song demonstrates firmly that the quality of the material on Converging Sins wasn’t a one off.

While working on this album, we decided to explore even more disturbing and uncomfortable topics. Alcoholism, drugs, physical and psychological abuse, manipulation…it is all a part of our everyday life. We have used real samples of some actual tragic life events to create a greater emotional impact to the listener and make him aware. This is not a casual album to listen to, but we believe that “Film Noir” will succeed to deliver the message we wanted to communicate."""

"From the hot-boxed catacombs of mathcore-meets-stoner-metal, comes the heaviest 3-way split this year from Missouri's Canyons and Foreign Theaters, and the Bay Area's Tigon. Sharing influences that range from Coalesce and Kylesa to Black Sabbath and The Melvins, these three ""math-sludge"" virtuosos deliver a formidable testament to how grimey, raw, and technical the recesses of hardcore can go. Although all three bands wrote and recorded the record independently of each other, ""Can't Have Nothin' Nice"" shares a common theme of the flaws of the human-condition, and calls for a serious self-evaluation through rigorous (and often ruthless) introspection. closet witch  selftitled 12"11.00 €

The band’s songs are crazed and dangerous, bristling with spiky punk energy and devastating in the mayhem they cause. This is violent, angry music. This is the kind of ferocious modern grindcore that leaves scars. Closet Witch’s music isn’t just simple insanity, however, as there’s a complex method involved here. Elements of technical hardcore and mathcore can certainly be heard in their sound, which manages to somehow increase both its impenetrability and its appeal. Uncompromisingly aggressive this may be, but I like the added depth that the band throw into their songs in the form of this extra layer of complexity and intricacy. The singer’s voice is razor sharp and insectile. She has the kind of passionately roaring scream that sounds as if it could peel skin with ease, so serrated is her delivery. Top stuff. If you strip out all of the nicer, softer, introspective parts from a band like Cloud Rat, and then cross this with the sheer intensity and technicality of a band like Discordance Axis, then you’ll have an idea of what Closet Witch sound like. It’s not for the faint of heart.
